Since 1996 the Maestranza has prioritized the recovery and restoration of its historic buildings, its library and archives and historic collections in order to make them completely accessible to the general public as well as to researchers and specialists.

The exhibition explores the ancestral relationship between man and bull in universal culture and the evolution of bullfighting from an activity restricted to knights training for warfare to the modern mass spectacle of bullfighting on foot.

Royal Saddlery

A historical collection from the Royal House of Orléans. On display are full sets of harnesses, saddlery and livery given by King Louis Philippe of France to his son Antoine d’Orléans, Duke of Montpensier.

The room is dedicated to the origins, history and present of the institution. The historical reasons that made it possible, its evolution since the 16th century, its contribution to the development of bullfighting, the urban expansion of Ronda and the activities it currently carries out are shown in different areas.

A space dedicated to the history of the purebred Spanish horse and the development of the practice and historical evolution of dressage.

Museum Shop

The bullring and museum shop can be found at the end of the visitor itinerary. It can also be accessed directly from the street. The shop offers a wide variety of gifts and souvenirs for all ages and designed with themes related to the history of the Real Maestranza and its bullring. The shop is run by Palacios&Museos, Spain’s leading museum shop experts.
