Toros en Ronda 2019

David Seaton graduated from Saint Martin's School of Art in London in 1974, where he received his master's in art education.

During the 1970s, he taught classes at art schools in Falmouth, Bath, Croydon, St. Albans, and more.

Large-Scale Sculptures

His art is somewhere between sculpture and painting. In 1975, he participated in the international sculpture exhibition "The Condition of Sculpture" at the Hayward Gallery in London. His first solo exhibition was at Yorkshire Sculpture Park in 1977. He later cofounded the Greenwich art studios in London.

In 1981, he worked with Miles Richmond in Yorkshire and Scotland, where they were both involved in organizing multidisciplinary art workshops in Rounton, North Yorkshire. He used the space to organize other artists workshops, where he made large-scale sculptures. After visiting Madrid and Lisbon in 1988/89, he did several other exhibitions.

Multimedia Workshop

In 1990, he met Richard Demarco and made his first Demarco trip around Poland. He has regularly worked at the Center of Polish Sculpture in Oronsko, along with many contemporary artists from Poland and other European countries. He has consistently done exhibitions in Poland since 1990, as well as some in France and Italy. He did one at the Richard Demarco Gallery in Edinburgh in 1991 and one at the Blosson Gallery in London the following year.

In 1994/95, he co-organized an international multimedia workshop in the Azores, from which the traveling exhibitions in Lisbon, Madrid, and London Docklands originated the following year. In 2003, he permanently relocated to Ronda, where he lives and works. In 2014, he was invited to participate in BreadMatters on Cyprus, an interdisciplinary art program that addresses and explores the relationship with the public through participation, collaboration, interaction, dialogue, and exchange.
