The Real Maestranza de Caballería de Ronda opens an exhibit in its bullring museum on its history, showing and telling how the Bortherhood of knights was founded in the 16th century to defend the city and its land and the development of the oldest riding school in Spain, from its origins in war to its current focus on classical dressage. It also covers the Real Maestranza's contributions to the development of bullfighting and Ronda's urban expansion during the Enlightenment.
Today, the Real Maestranza is a nonprofit organization governed by the King of Spain and dedicated to preserving, furthering, and researching its historical and archival heritage, promoting culture, and teaching horseback riding.
